Panther Baseball Ready for the Start of the Season

The 2015 baseball season is right around the corner as the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers will get the season started this week in the Comporium Invitation Tournament at Pelion.  Head Coach Rob Bouknight is in his third season and as he stated “we are no longer a young team” in spite of having two sophomores in his starting lineup to go with five seniors, four of which are starters.  Last season the Panthers finished the season 12-12 and dropped both playoff games.

This season Bouknight has a veteran lineup which will be anchored by a strong pitching staff.  Bouknight stated that pitching is “by far our strength going into the season” as they look to a rotation with Mitchell Cobb clearly the number one pitcher.
