The Batesburg-Leesville girls basketball team knocked off Ridge Spring-Monetta last week at home before falling at Abbeville the road Friday night.
The Panthers, 7-9 overall and 2-4 in Region 2-AA, will have traveled to Silver Bluff on Tuesday before hosting Ninety Six Friday night. Next week the Panthers will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Fox Creek on Tuesday before hosting Saluda in the regular season finale on Thursday, February 13th.

The Panthers and Trojans started strong in the first quarter with a back-and-forth contest as Kiara Burton paced B-L with six points. In the second quarter, B-L’s defense forced several turnovers that the offense converted into points as they built a 23-17 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, the Panthers dominated the Trojans as they outscored them 15-3 as they led 38-20 at the end of the third and cruised to a 46-26 victory. Burton led all scorers with 18 points while Kennyanna Morris added 12. B-L scorers: Burton 18, Morris 12, Dyani Dennis 9, Jaylah Barr 5, Jarissa Adams 2.
Abbeville 44, B-L 41
The Panthers traveled to Abbeville last Friday night on a rainy night and started strong as they led 14-12 after the first quarter and had extended the lead to 24-15 at the half. Burton and Barr each scored 10 first half points with Barr knocking down two three pointers.
The Panthers would continue to maintain a solid lead throughout the third quarter as they led 34-25 at the end of the quarter. However, the fourth quarter was all Abbeville. The Panthers only managed seven points and were just 1 of 7 from the charity stripe in the quarter while Abbeville rallied with eight field goals and went 3 of 4 from the line as they rallied for a 44-41 victory.
