Lexington District Three students shine at Special Olympics

Fifty-seven students from Lexington School District Three participated in the spring Special Olympics games on April 23, 2015 at White Knoll High School. The purpose of Special Olympics SC is to provide children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families and other Special Olympics athletes and community. Special Olympics impacts children and adults by improving motor skills and building self confidence and a more positive self-image. Participants grow mentally, socially, and spiritually through the activities.
