GES students ‘achieve’ success in summer learning challenge

GILBERT, S.C. — Several Gilbert Elementary students took part in Achieve3000’s AchieveSummer 40-Activity Challenge during summer break.
The summer learning challenge asked students to complete 40 online activities which consisted of reading articles and answering questions. Students had to earn a first-try score of 75 percent or higher on each activity.
GES Students Aubrey Harmon, Michael Lipsey, Kinlee Mozley and John Robbins completed all 40 activities.
GES students Connor Banchero, Capers Bell, Alyssa Benson, Hailee Byroads, Haley Chaney, Alexander Clark, Allyson Coates, Marcus Cook, Tara Dorgan, Rebekah Gamble, Chloe Grigsby, Alejandro Gonzalez, Gavin Hardwick, Kaitlyn Harris, Mackenize Head, Chance Jennings, Emilee Keisler, Nicole Kelly, Allie Kyzer, Ayden Leaphart, Lanayah Mack, Clinton Mills, Kathryn Moore, Xavier Pavon, Matthew Quina and Elaina Smith completed at least 20 activities.
The school held a special Readers Celebration to recognize the students. The names of the four students who completed all 40 activities were entered into a grand prize drawing for a new bike. Aubrey Harmon won the drawing. The other three students received gift cards.
