B-L High Academic Bowl team participates in 1st competition

The newly formed Batesburg-Leesville Academic Bowl team traveled to Laurens High School on January 15 to participate in the WPEC (Western Piedmont Education Consortium) Academic Bowl. Eight high schools, including Batesburg-Leesville, Clinton, Emerald, Laurens, Mid-Carolina, Newberry, Ninety-Six and Ware Shoals were invited to participate. Students answer questions in the subject areas of math, English/language arts, science, social studies and fine arts. An overall winner will be determined by the total number of questions correctly answered by a team during all of the mini bowl dates. The Batesburg-Leesville High team is comprised of students in grades 9 -12 and every student that  attends the mini bowls will participate. B-L High Academic Bowl team members include: Malaysia Barr, Skyler Brazil, Lexie Coleman, Kirkland Dukes, Ryan Duvall, Jordan Eidson, Kay- cie Frady, Clint Harmon, Karlee Mabus, Sydnee Patrick, Brittney Rodgers, Ceme- lia Shaw, Alex Shealy, Kaitlyn Shumpert, Reece Spradley, Hattie Grace Summers, Mariah Swygert, Brittany Temples and Glenn Williams.
