Rachel Rogers Jennings, 88, widow of Alton R. Jennings passed away peacefully on September 3, 2017. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Isaiah “Buddy” and Hannah Rogers and was the last surviving of 10 siblings. A truly unselfish lady, she was known for tending the needs of others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She never forgot a birthday, an anniversary, or anyone’s favorite food. Rachel had her own card ministry and not just for special occasions. Her cards lifted the spirits of many who were sick, down in the dumps, and those she simply had on her mind. She was always there when needed. Rachel loved to cook and if she had been president, there would be no hunger in the world. Surviving are her son; Andrew “Andy” Jennings (Jo Ann) of Batesburg, daughters Frances Boyle (Ken) of Aiken, and Shirley Banks (Johnny) of Columbia. Three step children, eleven grandchildren, four great grand children and two great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank: Drs D. Keith Bridgers, James O’Leary, R. V. Harrison, and Laura Craig, FNP, MN and the staff of Lexington Memorial Hospital and Agape Hospice House- Stoneridge for all their love and care. Also, thank you to Mrs. Sylvia Willis who provided special hair care. Also surviving are a special Aunt Sophie Sanders and two best friends, Betty Gibson and Margie Gay. Memorials may be sent to Twin City Church of Christ, P O Box 2239, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29070.
