Corburn Rodney Minick, 92, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Sion Corley and Lessie Cameron Minick, he was the husband of the late Nannie Rebecca Wheeler Minick. Mr. Minick was owner of Minick’s Texaco and was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. He loved his family, his pets, Cassie, Spooky and Precious, fishing, camping, working on sewing machines, his gold fish pond, sitting on the porch and driving his wrecker.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney M. Minick (Traci M. Upchurch) and Terry R. Minick (Linda T.) both of Saluda, three brothers, Dwight Minick (Margie Jean) of Saluda, Duane “Bullet” Minick (Dot) of Batesburg and S.C. Minick (Jean) of Florida, two sisters, Lavinia Matthews of Saluda and Nadine Landes of Batesburg, a sister-in-law, Vera Minick of Florida, four grandchildren, Jody Minick (Sundy), Julie M. Lawson (Gary), Ginger M. Griffin (Michael) and Joseph Upchurch all of Saluda, five great-grandchildren, Samantha Minick, Emma Grace Minick, Tanner Minick, Trent Griffin and Harper Griffin all of Saluda, caregiver, Minnie Coleman of Saluda and his special pets, Spooky and Precious.
Mr. Corburn was preceded in death by a brother, Ansel Minick, two brother-in-laws, Lynwood “Buster” Matthews and Bob Landes and a special pet, Cassie.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Red Bank Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Holcombe, Pastor Dennis Campbell and Pastor Burton Campbell officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
