LEXINGTON, S.C. – Three men are under arrest after two unrelated shooting incidents Sunday in the Columbia area of Lexington County.
Garrie Brown, 27, and Channing Dixon, 26, are charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy and possessing a weapon during a violent crime after shots were fired during an attempted robbery shortly after 5:30 Sunday evening inside an apartment on Berryhill Road, according to arrest warrants. Brown is also charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. One person was struck by a bullet and was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening wound.
“Two men who were inside the apartment fought back against the suspects and disarmed them before deputies arrived,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Deputies arrested the suspects without incident.”
Ekarius Moore, 17, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and possessing a weapon during a violent crime after a separate shooting incident at an apartment complex on Cricket Tree Lane, according to arrest warrants. Shots were fired shortly after 9:30 Sunday night in the apartment complex parking lot during a domestic dispute between Moore and two females. Both females were struck and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
“Moore drove away after the shots were fired and a bulletin was sent out to officers across the Midlands to be on the lookout for his vehicle,” Koon said. “State troopers and Richland County deputies apprehended Moore at the West Columbia side of the Gervais Street Bridge after he initiated a pursuit.”
Moore was denied bond Monday afternoon. A judge set bond for Brown and Dixon at $50,000 and $30,000, respectively.
Investigations into both of these shootings remain open, Koon said. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 888-Crime-SC. Tipsters will remain anonymous and could become eligible for a cash reward.
