Community churches to offer 5th Quarter after home games

Those middle school and high school students looking for a place to hang out after Friday night football games can look no further than the 5th Quarter.

The 5th Quarter serves as a safe, Christ-centered environment for 6th grade through 12th grade students after each Batesburg-Leesville High home varsity football game. The free programs are hosted by several local churches in the community.

During the Panthers football season, the 5th Quarter begins following the conclusion of the game (usually around 10 p.m.) and usually ends by midnight.

This year’s schedule is as follows:

Sept. 6 – ST. JOHN’S UMC (513 W. Church Street, Batesburg)

Sept. 13 – OLIVE BRANCH (122 S. Oak Street, Batesburg)

Oct. 4 – HULON BAPTIST (133 Hulon Church Rd, Batesburg)

Oct. 11 – FIRST BAPTIST – BATESBURG (436 W. Church Street, Batesburg)

Oct. 25 – CEDAR CREEK (788 W. Columbia Avenue, Batesburg)
