March 16: ADK Fashion Show: Our annual fashion show will be held at Southern Occasions on March 16th, 2017.This year we will be featuring fashions from Boutique 527 and Mae’s of Batesburg. Please make plans to come join us for this fun event! Tickets can be purchased for $ 10 at 527 Boutique, Mae’s or any ADK member. Proceeds earned from this event will provide scholarships for college bound students. The Alpha Delta Kappa scholarship winners for 2016-2017 will be announced in May. We are working hard this year to provide scholarship winners for the class of 2017.

March 18: The Batesburg-Leesville Ministerial Alliance invites the community to join them on Saturday, March 18th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Leesville United Methodist Church to view the movie “Woodlawn”. This true story, which took place in Birmingham Alabama during 1973, shows how a football team changed the lives in a struggling community.

March 18: The March 18th Haynes Bluegrass Show will be a great evening. New Dixie Storm will be coming to the Haynes for their 1st show. Trinity River will be returning to Haynes for their 2nd year. March 21: The Leesville Batesburg American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary, Post 61, will meet Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Legion Hut on S. Hendrix St., Leesville. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish to be served at 7p.m. The evening meeting will begin after the meal with the formal opening by the American Legion. Then the program for the evening will feature Patriotic Music. All Legionnaires and Auxiliary members are urged to attend. Guests are welcome. The meeting will conclude with the business meetings. The Christian Ministry Center, 1408 Summerland Ave., Batesburg. The pantry days and hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9-11:30 a.m. for clients; 8 a.m.-noon for donations. Food and clothes are provided free of charge with an application process. The Christian Ministry Center serves those in need.
Operation Reach Out hours: Thrift Store and Emergency Food Pantry, at 519 E. Columbia Ave., open Saturdays from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. We also deliver meals to home bound and have a Thrift Store open to all, no discrimination.
