Three public hearings were held prior to the regular Batesburg-Leesville Town Council meeting Monday night, February 9.  The first dealt with the ordinance to provide for the issuance and sale of a revenue bond not to exceed $2 million to construct water and waste water infrastructure to the B-L Industrial Park.  Rep. Ralph Kennedy made a few brief comments about the park.

The second public hearing concerned the ordinance to amend Title 9 Chapter 2 Section 4 of the General Code of Ordinances relating to fireworks.  Billy Brown asked council to reconsider the number of dates as well as the time that fireworks would be allowed.

The last public hearing was about the ordinance to adopt all amendments made to the Town’s General Code of Ordinances resulting from MuniCode Recodification.

Following the public hearings, Rep. Ralph Kennedy presented the Sara Bruner family with a framed resolution from the House of Representatives in memory of Mrs. Bruner and all of her many contributions to the town,  her church, The Twin-City News and various organizations to which she belonged.    In attendance for Mrs. Bruner’s recognition were her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and B.J. Bruner; grandchildren: Trey Bruner, Will Clark, Sally Sauls and her great-grands, Sally’s two little girls.
