Mackenzie Taylor will assume the duties of Director of Public Information and Community Relations for Lexington 3 on July 1. Mrs. Taylor was approved by the Board of Trustees during their regular April meeting. Current Director of Public Information, Judy Turner Fox will retire from Lexington 3 after 32 years of service on June 30.
Mrs. Taylor earned a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Minor in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2005 and graduated Magna Cum Laude and at the top of her broadcast journalism class. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Currently, Mrs. Taylor serves as Public Relations & Social Media Specialist for Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology and oversees the public relations and marketing campaigns for the eight cosmetology schools. She oversees production of all internal and external marketing materials and fosters and maintains relationships with local news media. From 2006-2008, Mackenzie worked as a reporter/anchor for TWTX-TV in Myrtle Beach, where she wrote and recorded stories for the station. She also published newspapers articles for local media outlets and served as extended fill-in anchor for News13 This Morning.
Mackenzie and her husband Blair, are the proud parents of Yates and “new addition” Reeves will be born in mid-May.
