Two men, Lancer Shull and Rev. Charles Simpkins, are running for Mayor of Batesburg-Leesville in the November, 2017 election. We spoke to each about their lives so that we could introduce them to you.
Nearly all other Town Council seats are also open and up for election – District 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. (District 1 was awarded to Linda D. DeLoach, the sole candidate for that seat, by vote of the current Council). Traditionally, we present all candidates a Question and Answer forum in which they can address the issues upon which they are running. This forum, including the mayoral candidates, will begin running in next week’s The Twin-City News (10.26.2017).
Election Day is November 7. Please call the Lexington County Registration County and Elections office at 803.785.8361 or the Saluda County Elections and Voter Registration Office at 803.864.445.4500, ext 2200 for more information.
