Lexington County School District 3 Board of Trustees gave their approval of the hiring of Eric Gambrell as Assistant Principal of Batesburg-Leesville High School beginning July 1, 2017. Mr. Gambrell will assume the role of Assistant Principal upon the resignation of Mr. Ross Cary on June 30th.
Mr. Gambrell currently serves as a Social Studies teacher, varsity football assistant coach, varsity football offensive coordinator, Strength and Conditioning coach and varsity boys and girls assistant track coach for B-L High. He joined the faculty of B-L High in 2012 as a teacher and coach. Eric is a 1997 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High, where he was a member of the 1995 State AA Football Championship team. After graduation, he attended Charleston Southern University and received a BS in Kinesiology and History. He went on to obtain a Masters in the Art of Teaching Social Studies with special interest in History and Psychology from CSU. In 2012, he earned an Education Specialist certification in School Supervision for Liberty University. From 2005-2008, Mr. Gambrell taught Social Studies at Berkeley High School. In 2009 until 2012, he was the director of Star Academy at Berkeley High. Under Mr. Gambrell’s leadership, Star Academy was named as the top at-risk program for South Carolina in 2008-09. In both positions, he also served as a football and track coach.
Eric and his wife Paula, have three children, Eric, Blakely and Teagan.
