Era Roberts will join the Batesburg-Leesville High School administrative team as Assistant Principal of Instruction on July 1. Mrs. Roberts was recommended by the district’s administration and approved by the Board of Trustees during the April 18th meeting. Mrs. Roberts will assume the role of AP of Instruction after current Instructional Coordinator, Dr. Lisa Allison moves to the B-L high School counseling office in July.
Mrs. Roberts earned a BS in Broadcast Journalism and a M.A.T. in Middle Grades Education: Science and Social Studies from Georgia Southern University. She also received a M.Ed., Education Administration-Secondary degree in 2015 and will complete an Ed.D. Educational Technology-Leadership degree in 2019 from the University of South Carolina.
After beginning her career in education in Beaufort County Schools as a sixth grade Science and Social Studies teacher in 2011, she then moved to Lexington School District Two, where she taught seventh grade Science, and served as a secondary administration intern and technology integration specialist until 2016. During her years in Lexington 2, she implemented a 1:1 technology planning committee and led the development of school-based 1:1 technology plan. She also facilitated school-wide use of instructional technology and roll-out: teacher, student and school-level development of instructional and assessment technologies, support facilities and technical troubleshooting. Mrs. Roberts current serves as a Graduate Assistant at the University of South Carolina-Educational Technology Department.
Era and her husband Aaron have twin daughters, Margaret and Claire.
